Michael has been involved in the sport of volleyball his whole life. With a father as a high school volleyball coach in the Toronto Catholic school system, he basically lived in the gym. He played club volleyball with the Scarborough Solars club system, winning 2 Provincial gold medals and 3 Provincial silver med

Michael has been involved in the sport of volleyball his whole life. With a father as a high school volleyball coach in the Toronto Catholic school system, he basically lived in the gym. He played club volleyball with the Scarborough Solars club system, winning 2 Provincial gold medals and 3 Provincial silver medals, as well as a silver, bronze and 4th place finish at Nationals. Following a successful club career, Michael played 4 years of OUA volleyball, culminating his career by co-captaining York's last Mens OUA championship team. He has experience as a setter, libero, and backcourt/serving specialist.
His career does not just exist between the lines. As a certified NCCP coach, Michael has supported multiple club teams over the years, has helped run volleyball camps, and has coached university volleyball at York for 5 seasons. He also has served for 20 years on the other side of the court, as he is a certified Provincial level referee.

Scarborough Synergy Volleyball Club is looking for Head & Assistant Coaches for the 2023/24 season. These are volunteer positions, although we do offer an honorarium depending on qualifications, and we offer full training and assistance for aspiring coaches. Successful applicants should enjoy working with youth and demonstrate integrity and a willingness to learn.
